Deauthorized Reddit Account

In some situations, PostDaddy will lose the permission to manage your Reddit account.

If PostDaddy is not authorized to use your Reddit account, PostDaddy cannot:

  • Submit posts in the queue
  • Delete posts that have been scheduled for deletion
  • Update post analytics

If any of these operations occur while your account is deauthorized, they will fail. For example, any scheduled posts that reach their post date during the outage will not be submitted to Reddit.

After your account is reauthorized, scheduled posts will continue to submit as usual.

Why is my Reddit account deauthorized?

There are a few common reasons why PostDaddy may lose access to a Reddit account.

Reddit locked your account

If Reddit notices strange posting activity from your account, Reddit will automatically lock down your account to ensure that it has not been compromised.

When your account is locked, it will also deauthorize all apps that use your Reddit account, including PostDaddy.

You removed PostDaddy from your Authorized Applications

If you revoke PostDaddy’s access to your account on the Reddit applications page, PostDaddy will no longer be able to manage your account.

Thankfully, reauthorizing your account is simple and can be completed within a minute or two.

  1. First, log into Reddit.com with the account that you need to relink
  2. Then, in PostDaddy, go to Account Settings
  3. If you’re using PostDaddy on a desktop, laptop, or wider tablet, click on the red link icon next to the deauthorized account to begin the process
  4. If you’re using PostDaddy on a phone or smaller tablet, find the deauthorized account, tap the ”…” icon, then click “Relink account…”
  5. Reddit will prompt you to reauthorize your account with PostDaddy. Click “Allow”

PostDaddy is now reauthorized to use your Reddit account.
